Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island

Strong families...strong communities...safe kids

April is....National Child Abuse Prevention Month

Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island, The RI Child Abuse Prevention Network, and The RI Family & Children's Trust Fund invite you to join us in observing National Child Abuse Prevention Month throughout April.

This national observance, which began in 1983, is just as important today. In Rhode Island alone, more than 2,500 children are found to be abused each year.

Our theme this year is "Parenting is hard work" because we realize that parenting isn't easy. Moms, Dads and other caregivers need support and encouragement to create safe, loving homes for the children in their care.

That's where we come in. Not just in April, but every day we provide support, education and resource referrals to parents and caregivers to help create strong families, strong communities and safe kids.

On April 6 the RI General Assembly proclaimed
April 2010 Child Abuse Prevention Month
thanks to our long time supporter
Rep. Joanne Giannini.
