| 3 Simple Steps to Becoming an Advocate for Children |
You can make a difference in the lives of children.
Get involved today!
|
| Step 1 - Be a voice for children |
Children need adults to speak up for them.
• If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected call the RI Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-RICHILD (1-800-742-4453)
• Write to your local legislator to express your concern for families and children. Visit the Advocacy Action Center for more information.
|
| Step 2 - Promote a Strong Community |
It takes a strong community to provide a safe environment for children.
Become involved in your community and its programs for children and families. Providing support to parents in your community who may be struggling is a key ingredient to preventing child abuse and neglect.
|
| Step 3 - Support Child Abuse Prevention Programs |
Volunteer your time or provide financial support to child abuse prevention and family support programs in your state.
Visit our Volunteer page or the Volunteer Center of RI to find volunteer opportunities.
Visit our Ways to Give page or Guidestar to learn about your financial support options.
